Project Overview
The 7RAR Battle Group will relocate from its current location in Darwin to new facilities within the Edinburgh Defence Precinct.
With 1,200 personnel, the Battalion includes a mechanised infantry battalion equipped with upgraded M113 Armoured Personnel Carriers, a mechanised combat engineer squadron, a self-propelled artillery battery, a combat services support team and a detachment from the headquarters of the 1st Brigade.
Construction of over $597.4 million of new facilities at Edinburgh has commenced. The facilities will include working accommodation, training facilities, a driver training area, a vehicle wash point and common user facilities for both Army and Air Force including health, mess, fitness and community facilities. In addition, there will be a significant upgrade to infrastructure at Edinburgh Defence Precinct.
